Deuteron Compton Scattering below Pion Photoproduction Threshold
Deuteron Compton scattering below pion photoproduction threshold is considered in the framework of the non-relativistic diagrammatic approach with the Bonn OBE potential. The complete gauge-invariant set of diagrams is taken into account which includes resonance diagrams without and with rescattering and diagrams with oneand two-body seagulls. The obtained results are compared with predictions ...
متن کاملDouble Pion Photoproduction in Nuclei
The inclusive A(γ, π+π−)X reaction is studied theoretically. A sizeable enhancement of the cross section is found, in comparison with the scaling of the deuteron cross section (σdA/2). This enhancement is due to the modifications in the nuclear medium of the γN → ππN amplitude and the pion dispersion relation. The enhancement is found to be bigger than the one already observed in the (π, ππ) re...
متن کاملScalar mesons above and below 1 GeV
We show that two nonets and a glueball provide a consistent description of data on scalar mesons below 1.7 GeV. Above 1 GeV the states form a conventional qq̄ nonet mixed with the glueball of lattice QCD. Below 1 GeV the states also form a nonet, as implied by the attractive forces of QCD, but of more complicated nature. Near the center they are (qq)3̄(q̄q̄)3 in S-wave, with some qq̄ in P-wave, but ...
متن کاملNeutral Pion Photoproduction in a Regge Model
The reaction γp → πp is investigated in the energy range above the resonance region. The amplitudes include the leading Regge singularities in the cross-channel and correctly describe the differential cross section for beam energies above 4 GeV and for momentum transferred above −3 GeV. The energy dependence of the beam asymmetry and the reaction γn → πn seem is quantitative consistent with the...
متن کاملHelicity-dependent Angular Distributions for Double-charged-pion Photoproduction
Two-pion photoproduction in the reaction γp → pπ + π − has been studied at Jeffer-son Lab Hall B using a circularly-polarized tagged photon beam in the energy range between 0.6 GeV and 2.3 GeV. Beam-helicity-dependent angular distributions of the final-state particles were measured. The large cross-section asymmetries that have been found exhibit strong sensitivity to the kinematics of the reac...
